Where has this week gone? I just realized that is Wednesday already and I'd not posted anything yet this week!!! Sorry about that - I'm back on track as of now. Last month at Stamping Soiree we focused on out of the box heat embossing techniques, one of which was split negative and this one of the projects we did. Split Negative is a great technique for calling attention to your images using some basic heat embossing. Plus, there's a bonus technique for you this week to make your Basic Pearls different colors!

Elegant Eggplant
- 5.5 x 8.5 for card base
- Scrap for punched scallop circle

Basic Black
- 4 x 5.25 for embossed mat
- Scrap for embossed image

Technique Directions
- Stamp image in Versamark once on Whisper White, and once on Basic Black.
- Cover Whisper White paper with Black Embossing Powder and Basic Black with White Embossing Powder. Heat set both images.

Cut images in half and then match them up create the split negative.
Finishing Touches
- Cut and fold card base in half.
- Run Basic Black piece through Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. Attach to card base with SNAIL.
- Attach "negative" images to scallop punched circle with SNAIL. Carefully pierce each scallop of the circle. Attach to card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- BONUS! To get "colored" pearls, carefully cover them with the Craft Ink of your choice (here Basic Black was used) and then cover with Irridescent Ice and heat set. Attach to card as shown.
