Five Minute Friday: Cutie Big Shot Milk Carton - From Leadership 2010

This is one of the projects we did as a Make and Take at the Stampin Up Leadership conference earlier this month. One of the best things about Stampin Up events is that we get to make projects that we don't have to design or cut for!  All attendees received the With All My Heart Stamp Set - and this is one of many projects we did - a milk carton!

I used the milk carton for this birdhouse project last week - and here's a more traditional use of it. Super cute and simple - imagine all the little goodies you could throw in this as a gift!

Vintage Vogue - Fancy Favor Box Shelli Style

Here's a box I whipped up the other night as a thank you for my hostess Barb who had a lovely group of ladies to her place last night. I shared all the great new stuff in the mini catalog and we did two make and takes - a birdhouse and a valentine's day card. 

The box is based on one that Shelli Gardner shared at Stampin Up's Leadership Convention last week.  I've used the Vintage Vogue stamp set for the bulk of the stamping, as well as the crown from teeny tiny wishes. I love that crown - especially given that my team name is the Papercraft Princesses. I can't wait to do up my very own charm bracelet using this set! 

Tips and Tricks from Maggie for this project:

• Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware gives the greeting some extra pop - and the silver shimmer paint sponging around the top ties it in nicely
• The small half back pearls in the pretties kit fit beautifully on the flower from the Trio Flower Punch making a great accent for many projects
• Sponging and distressing the butterfly focal point, and the background box softens the Real Red and gives it more of a vintage look
• Create a handle for your Fancy Favor Box by cutting a piece of 3/4 inch wide cardstock (length can be determined based on what you are putting in your box), and attaching to the inside of the box with sticky strip!

Santa Triangle Treat Box

Here's a perfect little triangle box for the holidays - great for a teacher's gift or to hang on your tree. Santa's face and hat is made with various punches.  This box is all over the internet, so in no way my design, but he's a crowd pleaser!

Stampin Up Treat Boxes - Perfect for the Holidays

When the catalog came out back in July, I was so excited to see the treat boxes in the catalog (#115690). These are a great size, perfect for giving out baked goodies and more for the holidays! You can find them on page 159 of the Idea Book and Catalog.

I've dressed this one up with the Sweet Season stamp set, a star brad, sleigh bell ribbon, along with some Very Vanilla Old Olive cardstock and Real Red Ink.   Treat boxes will be included in my upcoming Gift Blitz event, in the mini class on Bags & Tags - you'll get your own package of 5 to use during the class and three extras to take home.  The class will be on December 5th, and you can check out all the details on the three mini classes, or register here.

Thanksgiving Big Shot Fancy Favour Box

 

Isn't this is a great little box to bring to a hostess for Thanksgiving, or add to your own decor? It is made with the Big Shot and the Fancy Favour Die. With this die, you can get two boxes out of a single 12x12 sheet of cardstock, and then you just have to jazz them up. This is just one of the projects we did last week at the Stamping Spa Day which was too much fun! Here's the step by step instructions for this box:

1. Take the 6 x 12 piece of Really Rust and run it through the Big Shot using the Fancy Favor Die
2. Take a look at the box and the score lines and figure out which side is the top, and make sure it is right side up. Stamp the images in Dusty Durango all over the box, and over the handle.
3. Take the Color Spritzer tool and lightly spritz over the areas you just stamped using markers.
4. Secure handle on inside of box using Sticky Strip. (Handle is 1 inch by 12 inches)
5. Stamp Oak Leave in Dusty Durango ink on Very Vanilla, and then color in using Blender Pen. Cut out the leaf. Stamp Acorn on Very Vanilla in Chocolate Chip and color in with Blender Pen using Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink. Cut out the acorn.
6. Use the Chocolate Chip marker and ink up the word “thankful” on the Wandering Words stamp set. Cut out the word.
7. Crinkle the Taken with Teal circle (2 inch circle cut with Circle Scissor Plus) and thensmooth out
8. Fasten leave to circle with Stampin Dimensionals. Then add acorns with Stampin
9. Dimensionals, and then tie piece of Linen Thread around the acorns. Then using half a Stampin Dimensional add “thankful”. Add circle to box using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
10. Put your treats in the cello bag, tie with ribbon and add to your box!
11. If you wanted to make a bunch of these, I'd eliminate the cutting of the leaf and acorn and simplify the front panel. Otherwise, easy, peasy!

Box #2 Basket Tutorial - Featuring Very Thankful

Here's a quick and easy basket made with the Box #2 die for the Stampin Up Big Shot. All you do is make two boxes and instead of folding down the box tops, you adhere them together and then punch a handle.  For the handle here, I used the large oval punch.  Here's step by step instructions on how to make this project:

For the Box:

1. Using the Big Shot, make two boxes using the Box #2 die.
2. Cut off the top side flaps on both boxes.
3. Stamp box with desired image.  In this case I've stamped the flower from All That You Do stamp set in Crushed Curry.  I've stamped the flower full strength and then stamped it off once to create the lighter flowers.  When stamping, completely cover both sides with the stamped image.
4. Assemble both boxes, starting with the bottom, and then the side flaps using sticky strip.
5. Cover the back and box top of one of boxes with three strips of Sticky Strip.  Remove backing from sticky strip, line up the two boxes and adhere the two boxes together.
6. Line up large oval punch in the middle of the area for the handle, and punch

For the Tag:

1. Stamp turtle image from Very Thankful in Black Staz-on Whisper White cardstock and color in using Close to Cocoa, Old Olive and Melon Mambo classic ink with blender pen.
2. Cut to desired size and round corners with corner rounder punch.
3. Create tag using Big Shot and Two Tags die in Old Olive, fold tag on score line.
4. Adhere piece of Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper on tag, and then turtle image on top.
5. Using double hole punch, punch out spot for tag on handle. Attach to box with Melon Mambo ribbon and tie.
