Sweet Pea Felt & Paper Birthday Card

 
I am so in love with the Sweet Pea felt in the Occasions Mini....so much so that I am having a hard time using it. It is designed to coordinate perfectly with the paper in the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper stack which I've used here.  The colors were used for my monthly color combo that I feature each month in my newsletter. If you'd like to sign up for my newsletter click here.

The card has a bit of a twist - I've cut a cardbase that is 8 by 5 1/4, and then scored at 4 inches. It is then mounted on a standard size card front of 5 1/2 by 4 1/4.  With all of the new border punches, the possibilities for this specific design are endless! A little ribbon, a greeting and embellishment and you are good to go!

A kid's valentine's card is in store for tomorrow so check back then.

Serene Snowflakes - Color Combo of the Month

  

Here's a card I made which is a CASE from the Stampin Success Magazine sent to all Demonstrators. It is truly one of my favorite things about being a demo.  I do love my magazines.  The color combo used here is the Monthly Color Combo in my December newsletter - Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry and Brushed Silver.

The card has a few little extras - the tag has a stamped image from Serene Snowflakes, which was punched with the  1 3/4 circle punch and then added to the tag.  The tag is attached to the Basic  Black ribbon with some silver elastic cord.  A clear rhinestone brad is set in the middle of the snowflake.

The snowflakes are one of the awesome snowflake window sheet from the Holiday Mini, layered over the Rich Razzleberry!  The Rich Razzleberry piece is layered on Brushed Silver cardstock, which is then layered on Whisper White.

August Color Combo! Featuring Friends 24/7

Here's the new color combo for August!  This is a fun combo with lots of possiblities!  Use it to kick start one of your projects this month and get those creative juices flowing.  If you email me your creation I'll post it to my blog!  Let's see what you all come up with!!!

My card using this combo really focuses on the neutrals - Soft Suede and Kraft, with the others providing a pop of color.  This is a good example of the popular gallon-quart-pint rule for scrapbooking - use a  lot of one color (the neutrals), a bit of another (Bermuda Bay) , and then just a hint of the final color (Crushed Curry).  This is a great rule to remember when trying to work out how to use colors together, and I find it a helpful way to ensure everything is visually balanced.

Color Challenge - Razzle Dazzle Card
