Hello Again - Convention 2009 Make and Take

   

Here's another one of the Make and Take projects from the Stampin' Up Convention earlier this month.  This is a great little card for pretty much any occasion. All of the images on this card are from the Hello Again stamp set - which we got free as part of our convention goodies!  I was so happy to get this one and can't wait to use it in an upcoming event!

For this card - here's a little tip for the flower - stamp the whole thing on the main piece of Whisper White, and then stamp the flower in Rose Red on a scrap piece and punch out.  You then pop it up with a Stampin' Dimensional.  This is a great little technique to spotlight something or step up a simple card.

Things I Love Card Set - Convention 2009 Make and Take

 

Here's one of the make and take projects we did at convention last week.  I was so happy when I saw this new set in the catalog as it discusses all the things I love - shopping, chocolate and shoes! Lol.  These are 3x3 cards, and they fit right into a cello bag with the bag topper - easy peasy!

Wouldn't this make a great little gift for a sister or BFF?  I'm not going to get into the recipe too much, as I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing this in an event this fall!    You can check out this set (Things I Love 115229m $20.95), which I think is a must-have for scrapbookers here:

Stampin Up Convention 2009: Priceless Swap

Here's my second swap card.  It features the fabulous Cottage Wall designer series paper which was embossed using the Elegant Bouquet folder and run through the Big Shot. It was then sanded to show the white core of the paper.  The butterfly was stamped and coloured, and then covered with two layers of glassy enamel. Not exactly speedy all that cutting of butterflies, and then coloring it, and then heat embossing it twice with glassy glazy...but well worth it.  lol.

So....today, I'm in sessions at Convention all day, and then off to the Awards Night!  I'm happy to report I've received two minor awards for my work last year (sales and recruiting), so I'll take the free stamp sets and run! :)  A BIG thanks to all of my great customers over the past year for all of your support!  Let's hear it for me earning cruise this year so I can have a free trip for my 10th anniversary!

Stampin Up Convention 2009: Medallion Swap

Here's the first of the two swap cards I created for swapping while I'm at this week's Stampin' Up convention. Swapping is a big activity at all demonstrator events and gives us lots of new ideas and cards for our display boards.  I'm pretty excited to see all the cool creations I'll come home with.  I'm just wondering how the airport security and border services folks will feel about me having 40+ card fronts in my carry on bag!

Today I'm flying to Salt Lake City, and then will be going downtown to the convention centre to check in!  I'll be picking up my bag with my free stamps and other great booty, and then I'm driving out to Riverton for a tour of Stampin' Up's offices.  Good times in store! :)

This swap card uses the emboss resist technique, and my new technique called mixed embossing.  Like it sounds you mix together two or more embossing powders to create something new. In this case, I've mixed white with clear embossing powder to create a softer white and a bit of the shiny from the clear!  It creates much more of a shabby chic look than straight up embossing. We'll be doing emboss resist in this month's stamp club so if you want to learn more, you can join us on August 14th to learn more!
