Stamping on Candles

 

If you are looking for a few last minute gift ideas, how about using the supplies you already have on hand and stamping on candles?  This was the technique project we did at December's stamp club. 

Stamping on candles is probably one of the simplest projects you can do that provide a big wow factor.   All you do is stamp your image on white tissue paper and then cut around the image on the tissue.  From there, just put it on the candle and wrap a piece of waxed paper around it and hold it tight. Quickly heat with your heat tool and you'll see the tissue paper edges disappear.  And voila!  You'll be done creating your candle.  There's lots of videos on You Tube that will show you step by step how to stamp on your candles.  You can check on one here to help you out.

Keep it Simple: First Day of Fall!

 

Fall is definitely here.  I love the cool and crisp weather, along with the fall colours, decorations and holidays! I was shopping at Superstore last week and was taking a walk through the non-food section (dangerous, I know!) and saw this great candle.  It was relatively inexpensive and smells amazing.  I dressed it up with the Happy Blessings Stamp Set from the mini, as well as Autumn Vine DS.   I love it lots and plan to go back to Superstore to scout out all the "flavours" soon!   

Ingredients:

Stamp and Inks: Happy Blessings, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Classic

Paper: Confetti White and Choc Chip CS, Autumn Vine DS

Accessories: Small Tag Punch, Tag Punch, small circle punch and hemp twine, two way glue pen, dazzling diamonds

Keep it Simple: Rubon Vase

Happy weekend. My vacation is wrapping up, and we're getting everything back in order to go back to the real-life routine on Monday.  Starting today, at least once a week I am going to post a really quick and easy "Keep It Simple" project that can be done in less than 10 minutes.

This week's project is a glass vase with a rub-on and ribbon, inspired by the August cover of Good Housekeeping.  So cute and SO simple!  I had this vase leftover from some random time I received flowers and quickly applied the "bloom where you are planted" rubon, tied a bow and clipped these fabulous hydrangeas from my garden. 

Here's a close-up of the rub-on applied to the vase.  Click either of the above images to see a bigger version with more detail.   And this is why I love rub-ons, they can be applied to pretty much everything...and the new decor elements are just big rub-ons.  I just need to commit already and decide which decor elements to put up in my house.
