I Love Papercrafts

Today's post is a bit different - I 'm sharing some projects I made this past week in My Digital Studio. Digital Wednesday: Christmas Card Photo

I can't believe it is Wednesday...how did December sneak up on my so quickly???  I have lots of Christmas prep to do and not a lot of time to do it....I'm sure it will all get done somehow.  As a papercrafter, a big part of Christmas is giving handmade gifts, and I've got a few things planned, that I am hoping I'll be able to pull off in time.  Last year was the first year that I made all of our christmas cards, and one thing I really struggled with was including a picture, as  in past year I'd sent photo cards. My Digital Studio has solved this problem for me - I can include a picture that coordinates. 

I've been playing around with different designs that I can have printed as a 4x6 photo that I will insert into my cards....or use as the card depending on how things go. :)  This is one of those designs!  I really like being able to use all my beloved Stampin Up products and not use a pre-fab template!

Digital Wednesday - Christmas Card MDS Style!

Great digital news! I am now certified on My Digital Studio!  So...what does that mean, exactly?  I've completed training with Stampin' Up and can help you create your digital products.  To complete certification, demonstrators were required to undergo online training on creating scrapbooks, pages, cards, calendars and more!  The program is super easy to use, and I can't wait to share it with you!

 

A part of the certification was that we were required to create a greeting card and have it printed. I decided to have a Christmas card printed - I need to decide who will be getting this!  Can you believe, I am still trying to decide on what to do for our Christmas cards...........I'm torn between using MDS and doing traditional cards.  Decisions....decisions....but I need to decide soon.  Here's the front of the card I created:

I love being able to add the picture right into the card.  I have to say, that these picture don't do the final, printed product from Stampin Up's printer justice. I am so happy with the color and quality of my finished product!

Digital Wednesday - Family Photo Shoot

Here's a quick page I literally just whipped up with one of the photos from our family photo shoot on Sunday.  My little guy really didn't want to have photos done, but once he realized he could sit in a tree, well, he was pretty happy! For this page, I've added the basic black texture stamp around the edge to soften the background paper. The button border is all buttons from the Latte buttons in the accessories. And seriously, how great is being able to add all those buttons without worrying that you are using up half a package of buttons!  Hope you enjoy - just another example of what you can do with My Digital Studio.

Digital Wednesday - Grand Canyon

I whipped up this page in a matter of a few minutes! I have always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, and back in May I had the opportunity to take a side trip in the form of a helicopter trip during a visit to Vegas.  My time in the Canyon was limited (about 30 minutes), but well worth every penny! Cross that off my bucket list!

For this page, I really wanted to showcase my photos, so I used one of the photo grids available in the program. All you do is pick your photos and drop them in. To keep the focus on the photos, I added the background paper and the text. That's it. Wouldn't a photo book of your best photos be great to do this way?  Super easy and quick!

One great tip with My Digital Studio that really helps me is the fact that I can keep trying the different backgrounds until I found the right one. I tried about 10 different background with this before settling on this one, which really pulls out the blue from the sky!

Digital Wednesday: Sunny Days

 
  
It's Wednesday, so it's time for some Digital!  I made this page last night in about 10 minutes using one of the Sunny Days templates in My Digital Studio.  I wanted to change things up, so I used a few photos from my trip to Salt Lake City this past summer for Stampin' Up's convention.  This is a big departure, because I rarely scrapbook pictures about myself, and these really aren't the best (read: flattering) photos.  This month, the theme for our pages in scrapbook club is "all about me", so I thought I'd embrace it! Scrapbook Club meets Friday Nov 13th, email me if you'd like to join us.

Digital Wednesday - Halloween Style

 

Quick and easy Halloween page made using My Digital Studio. All I can say is this page taught me a good lesson about how much digital rocks. This page is MUCH different than when I started...and guess what, I've not wasted any paper, and there's no mess for me to clean up.  For someone who is all about tidying up, I am one messy stamper - call it part of the creative process. 

This page uses standard items included in the base My Digital Studio program, and uses a punch, some text, a photo mat, designer series paper and a brad.   A layout that would work for any event you want to scrapbook!

Have a great day - not sure what's in store for tomorrow quite yet. I think I may share some of the awesome Halloween swap cards I received at Convention and have had on display in the studio. Busy week getting ready for my team meeting on Thursday night (if you are local, you are welcome to join us to learn more about Stampin' Up), Carrie's Christmas Card Class and then my Christmas Punched Creations Tag Class...I love stamping! :)

Here's a quick and easy page I made in about five minutes using one of the Simply Scrappin templates available in My Digital Studio. If you are a bit reluctant because you aren't a "computer person" the templates are a great way to learn the ropes and get comfortable using the program.   What's great about My Digital Studio, is that there's so many ways to get those photos out of files and into creations you can share! Just think of all the possibilities for Christmas gift giving - calendars, photo books, multimedia CDs.....the list goes on and on!

Digital Wednesday - My First My Digital Studio Page

I finally had some time to sit down and really play with My Digital Studio over the weekend.  Can I just say - wow!  I am in love. Particularly when I was able to create six scrapbook pages in about 30 minutes. The most time consuming part of it all was finding the pictures I wanted!  This one took me about five minutes, as it is one of the fabulous Simply Scrappin' templates included in the program.   All I had to do was drag and drop the photo and then add my journalling. Plus, I just loved looking at all the baby pictures - hard to believe that this little baby turned into a busy and very funny five year old!

I printed out my creations on my photo printer at home (an Epson R1800 wide format printer - which I highly recommend) and was very happy with the colors - they are true to the Stampin' Up ones.
