Five Minute Friday: Sweet Pea Paper with Tiny Tags

This may actually be a less than five minute card!  This is one of the "bold" patterns from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack- perfect for quick and easy cards.  Add a ribbon and a small tag, and you are good to go.

Here's what you need for this card:

Stamps: Tiny Tags

Paper: Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack, Taken with Teal and Whisper White cardstock

Ink: Rose Red

Accessories: Old Olive Striped Ribbon, SNAIL

Tools: Jewelery Tag Punch

Step by step directions:

1. Cut cardstock base to standard size

2. Cut Sweet Pea paper to 4 x 5.25

3.  Take piece of ribbon and tie in middle. Attach to Sweet Pea paper with SNAIL.  Attach to card base.

4. Stamp greeting on Whisper White with Rose Red, and punch out with Jewelery tag.   Tuck tag into knot of ribbon with a glue dot. That's it.

The Sweet Pea paper stack (117161) is only available until April 30th. It includes a total of 48 sheets, 2 each of 24 double sided-designs in 12x12 format.

Last Minute Easter Ideas! Big Shot Boxes with Eggcoutrements

Isn't this bunny cute?  He's straight from the Eggcoutrements stamp set!  This is a good set as it coordinates with punches - each stamp matches a different punch! 

The first easter project today features the Milk Carton Die - it's dressed up with a a bit of Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper, a Chocolate Chip punched circle and the bunny in So Saffron.  On top is the Trio Flower with a 1/4 circle; and a word window.  Quick and easy and cute....what more could you ask for?

This is a modern take on the Easter Basket using the Box #2 die - the top is cut off, and then the scallop oval die is cut in half to make handles.  Shades of Spring designer series paper and the same bunny top this off!

Spring Card Stack - Top Note in Action

This past weekend at the Stampin Girls Retreat, we offered four different classes, one of which was a Spring Card Stack. We made two of each of these cards, and then a cute box for them to go into.  To bring all the cards together, the Top Note Die for the Big Shot was used on all of them, and everything was limited to Whisper White plus four other colours - So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  The end result is a cute matched set of spring cards that you can pop in the box to store or give away!

If you want to see the cards in more detail - just click on the picture above.  Details on each Card:

• Card #1 (Top Left): Top Note is textured with the Dot Embossing Folder, the flower is a scallop circle punch which is cut to create petals, the middle of the flower is a punched trio flower and then a chocolate chip epoxy brad, the greeting is the word window layered on the modern label and is from you guessed it, Teeny Tiny Wishes!
• Card #2 (Top Right): The Grass is from Inspired by Nature and stamped in Old Olive and then filled in with the image from Pocket Silhouettes in So Saffron, Butterflies are from paper from the Sweet Pea stack and then cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits for the Big Shot, the greeting is from Whimsical Words (Sale-A-Bration free set) and then it is topped off with Chocolate Chip epoxy brads.
• Card #3 (Bottom Left): The daisy is from the Big Shot Daisies #2 die, and then layered together, a Pretty in Pink epoxy brad holds it together.  The greeting is from Whimiscal Words.
• Card #4 (Bottom Right): The Bird XL punch is used with Sweet Paper Designer Series paper and Old Olive, the greeting is from Heard from the Heart, and the Top Note is jazzed up with the Horizontal Slot Punch and some Old Olive Satin Ribbon.

Here's the box for the cards. I'm quite proud of myself as I designed the template for the box myself with the help of some math. :). I'm hoping to do up a quick tutorial to share with you on how to make this box.  very simple with not much cutting or scoring.

Messages for Mom Birthday Card

This is going to be a post and dash.  Busy getting ready for the Stampin Girls retreat this weekend, and lost yesterday having spent a lot of the day in bed with a flu bug. Ugh!

The card pulls the colors from the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper - So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive.  Quick and easy watercoloring with the ink pads and blender pens and then a Chocolate Chip Epoxy brad in the Centre of the flower.  The Scallop Trip border (which you can earn for free until March 31st with a $65 order) pulls everything together.  That's it!  This is a must-have stamp set - Messages for Mom which is in the Occasions Mini Catalog!

Easter Fancy Favor Box

Here's a quick and easy easter basket we made during March's Die Cut Diva Night.  It features the Sending Love Designer series paper - which you have to love because it sparkles!   Die Cut Divas is my monthly Big Shot class - the next one is on April 23rd at 7 p.m. if you'd like to join us!  It costs only $15, or is free if you purchase your Big Shot from me.

The box is the Fancy Favor Bigz XL die for the Big Shot and a 1 inch x 10 inch strip of cardstock is sticky striped to the inside to create the handle.

The With All Heart Stamp set is used to stamp the flower - it matches the paper and fits perfectly with the Flower XL Punch. The flower is topped of with a Pretty in Pink Epoxy brad. Oh how I love coordinating products.  The label is the Word Window and Modern Label and the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Have I told you that Teeny Tiny Wishes is the BEST greeting set ever?  LOL.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Card

This is a great example of how versatile punches can be - hearts become a shamrock in this case.  Take another look at your punches and maybe you'll see something new!

Flower XL Punch Strikes Again - Simple Birthday Card

I am really challenging myself to actually use up my patterned paper, so I'm not hesitating to use it as a mat for my card!  Expect to see lots more designer series paper in the next few weeks as I work through my stack! 

I've used the flower patterned paper from the Sending Love Designer Series paper package.  I love this paper, and it really is for more than Valentine's day!  It uses fun and fresh colors that really pop for spring - a nice change from the pastels. 

Tips and tricks for this card:

• The ticket corner punch adds visual interest to the chocolate chip mat for the main image
• The greeting comes from the Vintage Labels set for Sale-A-Bration. You can earn this set for free until the end of March.
• The 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch circle punch fit perfectly on the flower XL punch.

I am VERY excited as tonight  I'm going to an event with about 125 other demonstrators and Stampin' Up's CEO Shelli Gardner!   My stamping buddy Kim was one of 24 demonstrators from across North America to earn the opportunity to have Shelli come to their home town.  Kim is truly one of the nicest people I've met through Stampin' Up, and an amazing leader within our team. She has worked very hard in the past few weeks to share this opportunity with all of us, and I am so thankful for her generosity!  I will post pictures from the event in the next few days.  More reasons to love Stampin' Up - if you'd like to join my team, I'd love to talk to you!

Z- Fold Birthday Card - Messages for Mom

Happy Monday!  Here's a card with a fun fold - the Z fold!  This was inspired by Ronda Wade, and as always, I've changed it up and made it my own.   I've used Messages for Mom for the image and greeting, and the watercoloring is done based on the colors in the designer series paper from the Sweet Pea stack.  It is simple watercoloring using classic ink pads and a blender pen.

Vintage Vogue - Vintage Friends Card

Don't you love the Vintage Vogue stamp set and coordinating Very Vintage Wheel? I'm slightly addicted to using that wheel as a background. I guess when you find something that works, why knock it?  I really am hoping these two make it into the next catalog. This is just one of the cards we made this past weekend at the monthly card class.  It was a great afternoon and we had a full house!  A big thanks to all the ladies who came out and I look forward to stamping with all of you again soon.  Next month's class is on Saturday March 20th at 9 a.m.  You can check out all the details here if you'd like to sign up!

Tips and Tricks for this card:

• The edges of the Friends panel were distressed using the distressing tool in the cutter kit
• The background was randomly wheeled with Sahara Sand ink to create a textured look
• A small piece of Kraft paper was threaded through the button to create "faux" thread
• The ruffle was created using the Lace Border punch and the paper crimper

Vintage Vogue Friendship Card

 
Vintage Vogue is definitely one of the most popular stamp sets in the Occasions Mini catalog. And it's easy to see why when you can create such a wide variety of looks with it. 

This card is adapted from a swap card I received at Leadership last month and combines the stamp set with the awesome butterflies from the new Beautiful Wings Stampin' Up! Embosslits Die.  This is one of the cards I am featuring in workshops and private classes for the next few weeks. If you'd like to learn the vintage techniques on this card, let me know!
