Valentine's Week - Day #1: Sprinkled Expressions Gift Enclosures

I love making tiny cards like these cuties! Today our first project in a week full of Valentine's Day projects with a twist. While the projects this week are geared towards celebrating love, they are also meant to be adaptable so you can use them all year long. 

Note - If you watched my Monday Message...the shovel project is on hold until later this week.  Apparently I don't own certain items I was certain I did...seriously? There's a stamp set I don't own - who knew?

Stampin' Up Supplies

• Stamps: Sprinkled Expressions
• Paper: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
• Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
• Accessories: Melon Mambo Striped Ribbon, Large Cello Bag, Brights Designer Buttons, Glue Dots, SNAIL, Sticky Strip, Mini Square Envelopes
• Tools: Simply Scored

Step by Step Directions – Box

1. Cut Melon Mambo cardstock to 6.5 x 6.5
2. Using Simply Scored Tool, score on all four sides at 1.5
3. Cut along four of the lines to create “flaps”
4. Assemble box using Sticky Strip.

Step by Step Directions – Cards

1. Cut six pieces of Whisper White cardstock to 6 x 3 and then score at 3 on long side.
2. Cut six pieces of Whisper White cardstock to 2.75 x 2.75.
3. Stamp images and greetings as desired on square piece of cardstock. Attach to card base with SNAIL.
4. Attach buttons as desired using Glue Dots.
5. Slip finished cards, coordinating envelopes into box.  Wrap up with large cello bag and ribbon.

Only Three Days Left of Sale-A-Bration: Vintage Labels Meets Medallion

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend. I certainly did at the first Stampin Girls retreat which I organized with my friend and upline Josee. It was a fantastic weekend, and we are already planning the fall edition - more details to come soon. I will post pictures from the retreat in the next few days.

One of my favorite Sale-A-Bration sets this year has been Vintage Labels, which is used here in the centre of the medallion. The set has three "labels" which all coordinate with punches, and then three greetings which fit in the labels.  Anything that is punchable is good in my book!

This is a quick and easy card, here's how I did it:

1. Cut a standard card base of Soft Suede and fold in half
2. Cut a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to 4 by 5.25 inches
3. Stamp Medallion in Crushed Curry on Crushed Curry Cardstock as shown
4. To get speckles, take Rich Razzleberry marker and color spritz and spritz card base randomly
5. Take a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp scallop label from Vintage Labels in Rich Razzleberry; stamp greeting of your choice in Crushed Curry inside of label
6. Punch out label using Scallop Circle punch - you may need to turn it a bit to get it to line up
7. Attach label to centre of the Medallion with Stampin' Dimensionals
8. Cut piece of Soft Suede ribbon on the diagonal and attach to Crushed Curry cardstock with SNAIL
9. Attach Crushed Curry panel to Soft Suede base

Vintage Labels - One Card, Two Looks

A couple nights ago I was trying to come up with a few easy cards with Vintage Labels (which you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration), and this was just one of the ones I came up with. Simple stamping with the layered scallop image from the Vintage Label set taking centre stage.  The pink really pops with the Nouvelle Chic Designer Series paper and a piece of Black Satin ribbon behind it.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and stamped in Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the 1 inch circle punch and then popped up with a Stampin Dimensional.

I wasn't completely happy with this card when I was done, so I decided to try another variation.  I like this result much better:

The image is matted with Basic Black cardstock, and then the ribbon is added to the side with the horizontal slot punch. This is a very basic design that you could do in a variety of colors to create different looks.

It was a good read and very interesting, although I don't recommend it if you are very squemish as there's definitely some violent scenes.  Should make an interesting discussion - can't wait for our part of our discussion where we cast the movie!

Forest Friends Easter Basket

 
Confessions time....so I've had this Forest Friend stamp set in my stash since it was first released last Spring and haven't really done too much with it! This is one of the stamp sets you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration!

My son really loved it, so I figured why not?  Well, I've finally found a way to use it and can see so many projects now with it with Easter and spring coming up.

Tips & Tricks for this basket:

• I've used the Fancy Favor box for the Big Shot, and then added a 1 inch wide handle. Ribbon is added to the handle for a finishing touch (SNAILED on top - you can't see it)
• The stamped panel for the front features markers on the tree - Soft Suede, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I wanted a tree that looked like it was in bloom for Spring.
• The bunny is stamped in Soft Suede and popped up with a Stampin Dimensional.
• The panel is finished off with the ticket corner punch
• Small oval punch is used for the greeting which comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes

That's it!  I've been making baskets of all sorts for easter - I'm going to need to purchase some chocolate for all of them and give them away!

Happy Moments Birthday Card

Wow-sa!  We are WAY out of my comfort zone with these colors, but you know what? I think I like it.  I am definitely evolving with my papercrafting!  The layout is copied from a swap card I received at Leadership from XX.

This is a sneak peek of one of the cards we'll be doing this weekend at my monthly card class. The cake image and greeting are from the Happy Moments set which you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration with a $65 or more order, or hostessing a party.  It's a great set for watercoloring as the images aren't that big, and you can easily manage to do one quickly!

I've also used another Sale-A-Bration product here too - the new Trim Scallop Border punch - another one you can earn for free.  I love Sale-A-Bration, because really, who doesn't love FREE stuff?  The patterned paper comes from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack. And that's all I'm saying about this card as I want to leave some mystery for my class on the weekend!

Botanical Blooms

 

First, I apologize for the not so great picture.  I was having issues with some glare or something.  In any event, here's a cute and easy card made using the Sale-A-Bration Botanical Blooms set.  I did the flowers using Certainly Celery and So Saffron markers, stamped the leaves in Certainly Celery, and coloured the flowers with a blender pen and So Saffron classic ink.

Isn't the lace border along the bottom cute?  This punch is getting a workout, and I've had a lot of people tell me they find it easier to use than the scallop border punch.   Everything is finished off with a piece of the certainly celery Sale-A-Bration ribbon, and a button from the Latte Designer Buttons. 

And yes, this card is square too.  Maybe tomorrow you'll get to see a "regular" sized card?  We'll see!

Yummy SAB Card

Here's a card I made for a Sale-A-Bration swap with some other Canadian demos. I used the Yummy stamp set and the Delicate Dots designer series paper from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The "a little something for you" greeting is sized to fit perfectly on a Big Shot Top Note Die - here it it is heat embossed in white.  It's topped off with whisper white tafetta ribbon, a flower made with the trio flower punch, and a clear rhinestone brad.

I really like how fresh the white embossing looks on the Baja Breeze top note cut out.  And, if you've not noticed, I am totally stuck on the kraft/baja breeze colour combo!
