Five Minute Friday: Spring Garden Whimsy Card

It's Friday - so it's time for a five minute card.  This one features Garden Whimsy, a stamp set I've not had out in ages.   It's a good set for spring projects.  Busy weekend ahead, and lots going on with work - so I'll keep this short and sweet!

Here's how to make this card:

• Cut cardstock base to standard size from Almost Amethyst
• Wheel background with Whimsy wheel in Almost Amethyst on the cardstock base
• Cut Top Note using Big Shot from Confetti White
• Stamp butterfly image in Almost Amethyst in upper left corner
• Stamp greeting in Elegant Eggplant as shown
• Punch trio flower from Elegant Eggplant and attach in middle of swirl; add so saffron brad to centre
• Add Apricot Appeal ribbon around bottom of top note and tie fooler bow
• Attach top note to card base
• Add two-way glue to butterfly as desired, cover with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and tap off.
• You are done!

Spring Card Stack - Top Note in Action

This past weekend at the Stampin Girls Retreat, we offered four different classes, one of which was a Spring Card Stack. We made two of each of these cards, and then a cute box for them to go into.  To bring all the cards together, the Top Note Die for the Big Shot was used on all of them, and everything was limited to Whisper White plus four other colours - So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  The end result is a cute matched set of spring cards that you can pop in the box to store or give away!

If you want to see the cards in more detail - just click on the picture above.  Details on each Card:

• Card #1 (Top Left): Top Note is textured with the Dot Embossing Folder, the flower is a scallop circle punch which is cut to create petals, the middle of the flower is a punched trio flower and then a chocolate chip epoxy brad, the greeting is the word window layered on the modern label and is from you guessed it, Teeny Tiny Wishes!
• Card #2 (Top Right): The Grass is from Inspired by Nature and stamped in Old Olive and then filled in with the image from Pocket Silhouettes in So Saffron, Butterflies are from paper from the Sweet Pea stack and then cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits for the Big Shot, the greeting is from Whimsical Words (Sale-A-Bration free set) and then it is topped off with Chocolate Chip epoxy brads.
• Card #3 (Bottom Left): The daisy is from the Big Shot Daisies #2 die, and then layered together, a Pretty in Pink epoxy brad holds it together.  The greeting is from Whimiscal Words.
• Card #4 (Bottom Right): The Bird XL punch is used with Sweet Paper Designer Series paper and Old Olive, the greeting is from Heard from the Heart, and the Top Note is jazzed up with the Horizontal Slot Punch and some Old Olive Satin Ribbon.

Here's the box for the cards. I'm quite proud of myself as I designed the template for the box myself with the help of some math. :). I'm hoping to do up a quick tutorial to share with you on how to make this box.  very simple with not much cutting or scoring.

March Color Challenge - Bring on Spring

Here's the color challenge for March - inspired by Spring! The colors were pulled from the Shades of Spring Designer Series paper.  I've come up with a simple card which highlights these soft colors and the playful pattern of the paper:

 

Tips and Tricks for this card:

• Creating scallop cards (or other fun shapes) is easy with the Big Shot
• The Shades of Spring Designer Series paper is bold and doesn't need a lot of embellishment
• Well scripted offers greetings suitable for multiple styles of cards
• Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon adds a touch of elegance to the card with a simple bow

Easter Chick Card With Scallop Circle Die

I am in full-on easter mode. When it comes to papercrafts, Easter is probably one of my all-time favorite occasions. Mainly because I love Spring - I'm all about spring flowers, rebirth and....easter creme eggs (*lol*).  Here's a super cute and easy easter card made with the Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot.  Don't forget the Big Shot is on sale until Feb 28th and when you purchase a Big Shot from me, you get FREE classes each month!
