Strength and Hope Sympathy Card

Last week I had a workshop where the hostess wanted me to share ideas for sympathy cards.  Not a request I get often, but we all know how meaningful a card can be when you are grieving, a kind word or thought can really lift spirits during difficult time.  Sympathy cards can be hard to make as really you want to make sure that you can fully convey your sympathy with just the right card. I came up with a few simple cards that I think fit the bill.

This one in particular as it is simple, yet elegant.  The butterfly comes from the Strength and Hope stamp set, and was stamped with Perfect Plum and Concord Crush using the Rock and Roll technique. The "with sympathy" greeting comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes - one of my absolute favorite greeting sets, and it never leaves my stamping table!

Five Minute Friday: Elegant Bouquet Sympathy Card

This should be called a five minute including taking out and putting away your stuff card. Super easy, very versatile, and one we'll be making during Sunday's Monthly Card Class. This could be easily duplicated in any color scheme with a different greeting. 

Tips & Tricks for this card

• Creating a lovely card front is a snap with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder for the Big Shot
• Add a couple brads to add some pop to the embossed image
• Stamp your greeting in the negative space to balance out the embossed image

One Card, Two Looks - Pocket Silhouettes

It's time to confess...I have quite a list of cards I have to make for various life events happening this month.  While I make cards constantly for classes and events, I don't always have time to make ones that I need, and I really like to create specific ones (and not just rely on leftovers from events) for each occasion that suit the circumstance and the person that will be receiving the card.  This is probably why I have boxes and boxes of handmade cards in my stamping studio, lol.

Today's card is very clean and simple, and I've done it two ways to show how versatile one layout can be.  The card was inspired by a card received by my roomie at Leadership, Cindy Major, from the Stampin' Up team for her presentation.  My picture of the card is terrible, so I'll spare you the pain of the bad pic!

Here's a variation on the same idea, just flipped and a different color of cardstock:

 

Just stamps, ink, paper - how refreshing is that? The only technique used is stamping off - I stamped off the main image once to fill in the holes.  I do love how you have generally the same size greeting with Teeny Tiny Wishes and could make multiples of the same card and then add your greeting as you need it!
